A 16-year-old has been charged with a robbery Friday afternoon at the Midtown Plaza.
Patrol officers responded around 3:30pm for a reported robbery-in progress. Witnesses told police that an individual with a hatchet threatened staff while attempting to flee with unpaid merchandise.
A person matching the description was spotted a short time later walking in the 100 block of First Avenue North. He fled from police but was arrested a short time later following a brief physical altercation.
The 16-year old is charged with robbery, resisting arrest and possession of a dangerous weapon
