Due to several safety and proximity concerns, Saskatoon’s administration is proposing a different location for the drop-in centre.
The centre’s current address is 325 Avenue C South, right beside the Salvation Army Shelter. That building was purchased in October of last year for $805,000, and City Administration had then agreed to keep searching for a location that was more suitable.
Just a few months later, Administration has now identified 130 Idylwyld Drive North to be a better fit for the purpose, as it offers a central location, street-level access, proximity to services, and two distinct spaces for men and women.
The building would cost $1,635,000, to be funded through the federal government, and $350,000 in alterations would need to be completed, as well. These include plumbing, fencing, HVAC, laundry, and shower installations. The Saskatoon Tribal Council would continue to be the operator following the transition.
If the new site is approved by City Council on February 25th, the centre’s target opening date is November 1, 2026.

The building in question: Mr. Dizzy, permanently closed
