Turtleford RCMP say they located a vehicle at a home on Thunderchild First Nation Saturday that was linked to a male who was wanted. They found the individual inside the vehicle and as they tried to make an arrest they say he fled into the woods.
An RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) was used to search the woods, and the suspect was located shortly after in a tree he’d climbed. Officers assisted him in getting down and he was subsequently arrested.
In a news release Cpl. Trevor Reimer of St. Walburg RCMP. “A birds-eye perspective and advanced night vision capabilities dramatically improve the ability to locate individuals quickly and safely.”
Thirty-four-year-old Christopher Dillon from Glaslyn is charged with one count each of fail to comply with release order and fail to comply with probation order. Dillon was also arrested on warrants for possession of property obtained by crime, flight from peace officer and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
