The Ministry of Health has issued an overdose alert for Regina.

The Regina Police Service has reported 46 overdoses since February 2nd with many requiring multiple doses of naloxone. Four suspected overdose deaths have also occurred during the same time frame.

A description of the drugs and what it is being sold as, are unknown however naloxone will counter the effects of opioids but drugs containing substances like benzodiazepines will require multiple doses.

The drug overdose alert is in effect until February 16th.
