The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating multiple assaults that they believe are connected.
Around 4 p.m. on Saturday police received a report of several people forcing their way into a home in the 700 block of Weldon Avenue. A 37-year-old man was located at the home suffering from injuries and while responding officers were there, there was another report of a person injured nearby. A 25-year-old man was then found also with serious injuries, and both men were transported to hospital.
A short time later a third person, a 45-year-old man, turned up at St. Paul’s Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The Serious Assault Unit is investigating all three incidents which are believed to be related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers
Meanwhile it was a busy Sunday for stolen vehicles in Saskatoon. The owner of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado reported his vehicle stolen to the Saskatoon Police Service at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and about two-and-a-half hours later an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle in the 400 block of Simon Fraser Crescent. A 33-year-old woman was taken into custody and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court at a later date.
Around the same time, patrol officers in the area of 22nd Street and Avenue C located a 2025 Honda CRV which had been reported stolen. Police tried to pull it over but say the two occupants attempted to flee on foot. They were quickly apprehended by a K9 team and two 18-year-old males are facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
Just before midnight Sunday, patrol officers located a 2005 Toyota Camry that had been previously reported stolen, travelling in the 200 block of Avenue P North. A 19-year-old man was arrested following a traffic stop. He is facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 and Identity Fraud.
