Two death investigations in Regina from this past weekend have gone in different directions.

The Regina Police Service (R-P-S) investigation into the discovery of a deceased man in an abandoned vehicle is now considered a homicide investigation. Meanwhile, an earlier deceased male’s autopsy is complete with the investigation determining that the man’s death was not a result of foul play.

In the case of the homicide investigation, officers attempted a traffic stop at about 3 a.m. on Monday near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street. The vehicle evaded police, but was located a short time later in the 1400 block of Princess Street by the R-P-S Aerial Support Unit. Officers on the ground found the deceased adult male victim inside while other occupants of the vehicle fled the scene. Police are asking for the public’s help with the investigation.

As for the other deceased male, found Saturday at about 5 a.m. in the 2000 block of Prince of Wales Drive. The autopsy authorized by the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, concluded that the death is non-criminal in nature.

In both instances, Regina Police have not released the name of the deceased person.
