Saskatchewan RCMP has issued a dangerous person alert for Big Island Cree Nation and surrounding area after one person was killed and three more were injured.
Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a shooting. Formal identification of the deceased is ongoing in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Saskatchewan RCMP is also working to determine whether the shooting is random in nature or targeted.
Officers say there are two dangerous people with a gun in the area, and they were last seen on an ATV.
Saskatchewan RCMP are responding, and they are advising residents to find a safe location now and lock doors. A RCMP release says do not share police locations and stay away from Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
