The Province’s annual School Playground Equipment Grant is seeing significant demand.

A release from the provincial government says more than 40 projects have already been approved for up to $50,000, matching what has been raised by parents and volunteer school councils through fundraisers and other efforts.

Funds can be used to build a new playground or go towards adding or replacing equipment on an existing school playground.

The current application period runs until February 25, on a first-come, first served basis. The province will invest $3.75 million annually over the next four years in the program.
