GrainsConnect is a joint venture between Australian-based GrainCorp and Japanese agricultural co-op Zen-Noh. The sale includes two elevators in western Saskatchewan (Reford and Maymont) and two in Alberta (Vegreville and Huxley) GrainsConnect also has a shared ownership with Parrish and Heimbecker of the Fraser Grain Terminal at the Port of Vancouver.
GrainsConnect has been around for a decade with all four elevators opening between 2017 and 2019.
GrainCorp says the deal does not include its Canadian marketing offices in Winnipeg.
The deal is subject to regulatory approval which GrainCorp anticipates will occur in the first half of 2026.
Parrish and Heimbecker is a private, family-owned grain company based in Winnipeg. It operates more than 30 grain elevators across the Prairies.
