Saskatchewan experienced a 12 per cent increase in wholesale trade from October 2024 to October 2025, according to Statistics Canada. The increase is the highest among the provinces.
Saskatchewan also ranked second in month-over-month wholesale trade growth at 4.6 per cent. In October 2025, the total value of wholesale trade was $4 billion.
Wholesale trade is the measure of the value of goods purchased in large quantities with the intention of being sold to resellers. Saskatchewan’s increase does not include petroleum or petroleum products, other hydrocarbons, or oilseed and grain.
Saskatchewan ranked second in GDP growth per cent at 3.1 per cent, the national average is 1.7 per cent. The province’s 2024 real GDP reached an all time high of $83.6 billion.
In 2024, private capital investment increased by 17.3 per cent to $14.7 billion, which ranked first. In 2025, it is projected to reach $16.2 billion,a 10.1 per cent increase over last year and the second highest increase among provinces.
