A different night, with a similar result and score, but with different cast members in starring roles!

Hayden Harsanyi registered five assists and Hunter Laing scored a pair of key third period goals and chipped in a helper to pace the Saskatoon Blades to a convincing 8-3 victory over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes Friday. Back on Tuesday in Moose Jaw, Zach Olsen scored four goals and David Lewandowski had four assists as the Blue and Gold waffled the Warriors 9-3. On Friday, a crowd of 3,268 braved the most frigid day of winter – with the wind chill in the -40s – to see the Bridge City Bunch’s offence stay hot. Although they surrendered the first goal, the Blades had the lead before the end of the first period on tallies by Cooper Williams and Gavin Clark – both assisted by Harsanyi – before scoring three unanswered goals in the second period to put the game out of reach. The Canes did battle back to within 5-3 before five minutes were done in the third period, however Laing scored his two goals and Jack Kachkowski tallied as well to finish off the onslaught. Rowan Calvert, former Lethbridge defenceman Tristen Doyle and Kazden Mathies had the other goals for Saskatoon, who out-shot the Hurricanes 40-26. Williams, Clark and Kachkowski each registered an assist, giving them two-point games. The Bridge City Bunch also went 3-for-4 on the power play for a second straight game. The win snapped a three-game, home-ice losing streak for the Blue and Gold – now 16-13-2 for the season – as they head back to Moose Jaw Saturday night.
