It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P talking N-F-L – the Week 15 edition…..
We’re, officially, into the stretch run of the N-F-L regular-season. There are no more byes, just four weeks left to go and only nine of the 32 teams have been mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the playoffs!
In other words, the slam-dunk picks should be easy to find, but there should be more than the usual trio of not-so-certain prognostications for yours truly!
Having said that, the slam-dunks aren’t always as slam-dunkish – excuse my grammar – as evidenced by Tampa Bay losing at home to the ‘Aints of all teams last week! I was right with Seattle winning in Atlanta, but I needed a last play, goal-line interception for the L-A Chargers to knock off Philadelphia on Monday Night! As for my not-so-certains, in another week where I finished in third place in the weekly Lazaruk Football League, Saskatoon Media Group confidence pool, my hunch that Arizona would win at home, upsetting their N-F-C West Division rival L-A Rams proved to be way off. That was my least confident pick. My next two came in with Tennessee winning for just the second time over hapless Cleveland and my Minnesota Vikings prevailing over Washington!
That brings us to Week 15. My slam-dunks are Jacksonville at over the Jets, who won’t be in the playoffs – again! I’ve got Chicago at home to defeat the Browns, who are going to be humbled the rest of the year while Shedeur Sanders figures out that he needs to be humbled as the starting quarterback. And, I really like Seattle at home to beat up on Indianapolis – minus Daniel Jones at quarterback and before 44-year-old Philip Rivers is ready to play again after, incredibly and unbelievably, unretiring this week!!
My not-so-certain picks are to take New Orleans at home over the enigmatic Carolina Panthers, my Minnesota Vikings to win in Dallas. I do that just because the Vikes are my favourite team and I detest the Cowboys!! I’m just not certain that Minnesota can win! And, Cincinnati is going to beat visiting Baltimore – as the Ravens haven’t exactly become world beaters with Lamar Jackson back from injury!!
I’ve got 12 of 16 home teams winning this week!!
