Ontario Premier Doug Ford tops the Canadian Taxpayer Federation Naughty List for gifting politicians massive pay raises and bringing back taxpayer-funded pensions for politicians.
The federal Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne is also on the Naughty List for what the CTF describes as borrowing tens of billions of dollars every year.
CRA also made the naughty list for poor service as well as not supplying Canadians with accurate information.
The federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree made the Taxpayer Naughty List for gun bans which CTF says targets law-abiding Canadian firearms owners.
Quebec Premier François Legault is on the Naughty List for being the only premier to keep charging a consumer carbon tax.
Indigenous activist Hans McCarthy made the Taxpayer Nice List for winning a landmark court case to improve transparency for First Nations’ band members. And Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston also made the Nice List for cutting income taxes, sales taxes and small business taxes.
The Parliamentary Budget Officer topped the Nice List for giving taxpayers the gift of government transparency.
And even Alberta Premier Danielle Smith made it to the Nice List because she saved taxpayers money by ending the teacher’s strike and getting kids back to school.
