The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire in the 200 block of Montreal Avenue South on Saturday afternoon.

The call came in at 3:24 p.m. and arriving firefighters could see smoke coming from the front of the duplex.

Everyone had exited the home safely before the fire department arrived except for a family pet which was found and given over safely to the occupants.

The fire was in the kitchen and no one was hurt. A fire investigator is looking into the cause, the origin, and damage estimate.
