The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre is partnering with CPKC Holiday Train and has set a goal to fill 40 bins. They are asking folks to bundle up Saturday night and head down to the corner of 7th Avenue and Warburton to watch the concert and bring nonperishable food donations.
Among the more than a dozen performers this year the musical talent includes Smash Mouth, Barenaked Ladies, and Jade Eagleson.
SFBLC’s most-needed items include: baby food and formula, canned fruits and vegetables, hearty soups and stews, whole-grain pasta and cereals, canned protein, and peanut butter.
The last time the Holiday Train was in Saskatoon was in 2023.
The City of Saskatoon says there will be multiple road closures from 6:00 p.m. this evening until noon Sunday for the CPKC Holiday Train. Roads which will be closed include 7th Avenue between Empress and Duchess streets, 33rd Street between 6th and 8th avenues, Warburton Street at 7th Avenue, and Lauriston St Street at 7th Avenue.
