KidSport has launched their annual Give the Gift of Sport Campaign for this year’s holiday season.
The campaign aims to raise $1,000,000 to help kids whose families can’t afford for them to play sports.
KidSport Provincial Coordinator Tammy Hoffart says that the positive benefits that playing sports has on children reaches far beyond just physical health.
“Sport is more than a game, and we know that sport helps kids with so many other things other than just learning to kick a ball or shoot a puck. It helps them to learn coping skills. It helps them to learn teamwork.”
Hoffart says that donating is easy and the impact of the donations is huge.
“People can donate to the campaign by visiting our website at kidsport.ca. They can make a donation, and it makes a great gift for someone this holiday season.”
She adds that every donation up to $20,000 will be matched by Canada Life.
The campaign runs until January 4th.
