It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P’s weekly recap and look-ahead to Week 14 of the N-F-L season…..
I call this The Fearless Predictor’s slam-dunk picks and not-so-certain selections! In looking at last week, I finished in the top three in the weekly Lazaruk Football League, but didn’t win! You’d think as the organizer that I would find some way to win the weekly cash, especially at this time of year with Christmas around the corner!
Fortunately, I’m not that deceitful!!
Last week, I hot two of my three slam-dunks, correctly taking Miami to beat New Orleans and Seattle to eviscerate my Minnesota Vikings! What likely cost me winning the confidence pool was my taking Atlanta to win over the Jets on the road! Some of the teams with really bad records will rise up and win at home from time-to-time – and I know that! Problem is, I need a heads-up as to who those teams might be going into a new week!!
I missed on two of my three not-so-certain predictions as Pittsburgh lost at home to Buffalo and Detroit lost at home to Green Bay. I did have the right hunch on Indianapolis beating visiting Houston!
So, that brings me to this week where there are a lot of intra-divisional contests – and the possibility of upsets. That’s why I’ve got Arizona to win at home over the Los Angeles Rams! This shouldn’t even be close, and may not be if L-A bounces back from last week’s loss in Carolina as they should. But, the good teams tend to lose games in bunches, especially on the road! I’m also taking a chance on Tennessee to win at Cleveland. It would be the Titans’ second win and I’m not convinced Shedeur Sanders is a capable N-F-L starting quarterback for the Browns! And, I’m going with my Vikings at home to beat Washington in a battle of bad teams!!
My slam-dunks are Tampa Bay at home over New Orleans, Seattle to win in Atlanta and the L-A Chargers to beat Philadlephia. The Eagles sure looked bad last week in losing at home to Chicago. Either Jalen Hurts and company find their game or they could find themselves in a battle to hold on to first place in the N-F-C North!
Then again, what do I know?!! That is a rhetorical question!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
