Mining company Mosaic is developing talent and expanding career opportunities through a $4 million investment into three post-secondary institutions.
Mosaic’s own future hiring projections, backed by recent third-party reports from the Saskatchewan Mining Association and Deloitte, suggests there is an urgent need to train and recruit thousands of workers.
To address this, Mosaic is investing $1.5 million in Saskatchewan Polytechnic to enhance the Industrial Mechanic workshop at Sask Polytech’s new Joseph A. Remai Saskatoon Campus and improve trades areas at the Moose Jaw campus.
Mosaic is also gifting the same amount to Suncrest College to modernize the Esterhazy campus and expand Industrial Mechanic Apprenticeship training. Lastly, the company will be investing $1.05 million in the Good Spirit School Division to build a new Practical and Applied Arts Lab at Churchbridge High School.
An old opportunity is being revived, as well. The Potash Mining Readiness Program, started in 2022, will re-launch in February 2026 with new curriculum focused on training Indigenous learners for entry-level operations roles in Esterhazy.
