The Prince Albert Police Service says two people have been charged with robbery and resisting arrest after an armed robbery that led to a police pursuit on Wednesday night.
Around 10:00 p.m. offices responded to a report of a robbery in the unit block of 28th Street West. The victim’s vehicle was stolen after two individuals brandished knives and she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries by Parkland Ambulance paramedics.
Shortly after, officers located the stolen vehicle on River Street West and tried to pull it over but it sped off and the police service says due to the initial violence displayed in the initial call they pursued the vehicle with that pursuit coming to an end after the stolen vehicle collided with another motorist at the intersections of 30th Street and 2nd Avenue West.
Two people in the stolen vehicle were arrested shortly after trying to flee on foot. The male occupant of the other vehicle did not report injuries.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with resisting arrest, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and evading police. The 22-year-old woman has been charged with resisting arrest and breaching an undertaking. Both have also been charged with robbery.
