This is Vanese Ferguson with Coffee Talk. So the only way for my husband and I to enjoy watching the Grey Cup with my Mom is either I take a day off and see it at her place or we go get her. Bless my husband, he drove the just over two hours it takes to get Moose Jaw and then turned around and came right back. It’s a long day for my Mom as well, a senior. And she’s heading right back today because the weather is about to go south so it’s important to get ahead of it. If we had some form of bus service, we wouldn’t have to make that drive, unless I’m not using the websites correctly. from what I can discern, she’d have to go to Saskatoon via Regina or via Chamberlain. And there appears to be only one company that would off that. The point is my Mom no longer wants to drive highways especially heading into winter and there’s no one to get her to either Chamberlain or Regina. Which is why I miss STC. I just never understood why it was just a wholesale scrapping of the provincial bus service. Why not scale it back to the main cities in the province like La Ronge, P.A. Saskatoon, North Battleford, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Regina, Yorkton and then offer the service once a week – burning less fuel and ostensibly with a fuller bus. And it didn’t even have to be a full size – could be something the size of an access bus. So, I don’t want to ever here anyone make remarks to me about carbon and the environment when we go to Moose Jaw to get my Mom so she can visit us.
I still feel the need for a provincial bus service
