PA Police Service receives $54,000 from Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund

Through the Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund, the provincial government is providing over $54,000 to the Prince Albert Police Service.

The money will allow for the purchase of new communications equipment, including 12 voice projection units and a tactical video phone. Another $54,000 will also be provided to the provincial Victims’ Fund, to support victims of crime and aid in the delivery of community programming.

The new equipment aims to enhance the Team’s ability to maintain secure communication during high-risk incidents.

The Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund is comprised of forfeited cash and proceeds of other forfeited assets which are converted into cash, such as the proceeds of drug trafficking activity. Since April 2024, the Civil Forfeiture Office has forfeited approximately $635,000 in illegal proceeds related to fentanyl trafficking.
