CJWW’s Making Grub with the Dub digital cookbook has been released and is now available for purchase online.
CJWW Announcer Ben Brooks says that the cookbook came about as a way to connect people through a shared love of food.
“We wanted to interact with our listeners around the province, and one of the best ways to do that is around food. One of the best ways you interact with your friends and family is having conversations around the dinner table.”
Ben adds that many of the dishes in the digital cookbook are great for families to make together.
“Definitely the desserts, those are always a big hit. So you could probably fire up every single one of those and those will be good. The drinks are always good too.”
Not only is the cookbook a fun way for families to spend time together, the money made from sales of Making Grub with the Dub is going toward Sask Ag Matters Mental Health Network, which helps farmers struggling with their mental health by setting them up with a mental health professional with knowledge about agriculture.
“We’ve seen droughts, we’ve seen tariffs come out of nowhere, let alone the prices of what combines are these days, how grain prices have really shrunk. There’s a lot of stress on the farmer right now and it just kind of went hand-in-hand, we’re making food, farmers make the food for us and so putting that all together into one little cookbook for charity, I just thought was a great idea.”
Making Grub with the Dub can be purchased at cjwwradio.com with an e transfer of 20 dollars or more to Sask Ag Matters.
