The Moose Jaw Police Service has seized around 42,000 unmarked cigarettes after a traffic stop and a search warrant.
The traffic stop took place on October 20th on the east side of Moose Jaw, where police found a driver with a suspended licence and conducted a vehicle search, where they found 4540 illegal unstamped cigarettes.
The driver was arrested and charged with possessing unstamped tobacco for the purpose of sale. They were also ticketed, and their vehicle was impounded.
Another incident occurred Friday when police found over 37,000 illegal cigarettes and $12,000 in cash while conducting a search at a residence in the 200 Block of High Street East.
A man and woman were charged with possessing unstamped tobacco for the purpose of sale, the women was charged additionally with possession of unstamped tobacco.
Both incidents are under investigation.
