Carla Beck received the highest post-election review result in the history of the party at the Saskatchewan NDP’s annual convention this weekend in Saskatoon. The NDP leader received an A grade with 87 per cent approval after an election that doubled the party’s seats in the Legislature. The NDP now holds nearly half the seats in the Legislature.
Beck pledged to keep healthcare and the rising cost of living at the top of her caucus’s agenda going into the fall session later this month.
Beck told the crowd of hundreds that her team has been travelling across the province listening to residents’ concerns and sharing ideas. Her team launched a province-wide consultation on the future of healthcare in Saskatchewan and will be introducing legislation this fall to bring in rent control.
