Average retail gasoline prices have fallen 1.0 c/L in the past week averaging 133.13 c/L Sunday.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.com suggests that as long as oil prices remain relatively stable and the Atlantic hurricane season stays quiet motorists in much of the country will see gas prices drift lower. He forecasts possible by 10-20 c/L by the holidays.
He also notes that seasonal factors are now in full effect-most notably the switch to cheaper winter gasoline and a typical post-summer drop in demand-which have combined to bring relief at the pumps.
He says gas prices dropped across nearly all of Canada last week, with every province but Ontario seeing a decline in average prices.
