It’s my Parting Shot for Week 4 N-F-L best bets and tough to call games, as put together by The Fearless Predictor…..
All three of my slam-dunks from Week 3 were right, although Tampa Bay was quite fortunate to slip past the Jets. I also had all three of my not-so-certain prognostications come up winners as well, although Philadelphia needed a blocked field goal plus scoop and score in order to prevail over the L-A Rams. My lack of faith in my Minnesota Vikings was tough to take in the Saskatoon Media Group office pool, but I was thrilled that they were able to bounce Cincinnati!
So, on to Week 4 with six teams at 3-0 and six others without a win in three tries. The chances of the 3-0 teams losing sooner than later grows with each passing week while the same can be said of a winless team finally coming through and winning sooner than later!
Having said that, one of my slam-dunks is the undefeated Bills defeating winless New Orleans on Sunday in Buffalo. The “Aints” nickname is quite apprapo for the team from The Big Easy! Another slam-dunk, I feel, is Detroit at home on Sunday over Cleveland – who were very fortunate to beat Green Bay. The Lions have more offence than the Packers and will be more than ready for the Browns! My other slam-dunk is Seattle winning in Arizona tonight – and I’m not sure why, but I just have a feeling!
My not so certain picks is a battle of winless teams on Monday night with Miami at home beating the Jets. In a battle of unbeaten teams, I’m playing a hunch and saying that Tampa Bay, who are only plus-6 points for and against while winning all three games, at home will pull off somewhat of an upset over Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia. I also think San Francisco is ripe to be knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten – at home by Jacksonville of all teams!
As for my 2-1 Minnesota Vikings, I’m jumping on the Carson Wentz at quarterback bandwagon and taking the Vikes to win in Pittsburgh over Aaron Rodgers and company. I’m also not that confident, keeping my feet close to the ground so that I don’t break my ankles when I jump off!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
