One man injured in assault
The Saskatoon Police Service says their Serious Assault Unit is investigating a stabbing that occurred downtown Monday evening.
Police responded to an injured person report in the 100 block of 21st Street East and found a man with several stab wounds. He was transported to hospital and is in stable condition.
Officers believe the male was assaulted by another man who is described as 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, a thin build with shoulder-length black hair. He was wearing grey or black pants, a black jacket, a red shirt with a black, red and white image or print on the front, a black ball cap and white with black running shoes.

Bear Spray incidents Sunday, suspect in custody
The Saskatoon police Service is investigating two bear spray incidents which occurred within a few minutes on Idylwyld Drive North.
The first call came in at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. A man was reported injured at a restaurant in the 1600 block of Idylwyld North. A 38-year-old man was suffering from being bear sprayed and told officers he was approached while walking nearby by a male who asked him for a cigarette before deploying the bear spray.
While responding to that call, another, similar incident was called in a few blocks away. A 62-year-old woman was in the 1800 block of Idylwyld Drive North suffering from the effects of bear spray. She said she had been sitting in her vehicle when she was approached by a male who asked for money and a cigarette before deploying bear spray.
Both victims were treated at the scene and charges are pending against a male who was located nearby, and police say he was in possession of bear spray.
Drug Bust Saturday
Drug trafficking investigation has netted Saskatoon police multiple quantities of drugs and over 65-hundred dollars in cash.
Around 10:30 p.m. on September 6, the Guns and Gangs Unit with support from the Tactical and Alternative Response Units, executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Avenue V South.
In addition to the Canadian currency, officers seized 7.89 grams of crack cocaine, 5.16 grams of cocaine, 24.12 grams of methamphetamine.
A 34-year-old man has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Two women were also arrested on criminal warrants from other police agencies for assaulting and resisting a police officer and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
