It’s my Parting Shot for T-P-F and Week 11 C-F-L picks…..
Quite possibly the best week of four games of regular-season C-F-L play last week, a grand total of nine points was the margin for the four games. And, that meant the Fearless Predictor was so close to a perfect week, but had to settle for only having Ottawa winning in Toronto as the lone correct prognostication! On we go…
…starting with tonight and the RedBlacks at Winnipeg. It’s a short week for both teams, both having played this past Saturday. And, both have their starting quarterbacks at their disposal. Ottawa has won their last two games to get into the playoff conversation and needs to reel in either 4-5 B-C or the 4-4 Blue Bombers so that there is no cross-over berth happening! That’s why I’ve got the RedBlacks by less than a field goal!
Friday Night Football features Toronto in Edmonton. The 2-7 Argonauts are coming off a tough home loss while the 2-6 Elks are feeling good about a heady win in Montreal. The battle of the respective division basement-dwellers goes to the Western team at home – Edmonton by more than a touchdown!
Saturday’s second game should be a dandy with the Alouettes at B-C – but it will pale in comparison to the game before it, I believe! The 5-4 Als are stumbling without young, franchise quarterback Davis Alexander with McLeod Bethel-Thompson’s best days way off in the rear-view mirror. The enigma that is the 4-5 Lions was made further puzzling by last week’s overtime win at Hamilton. No matter if M-B-T or Caleb Evans is Q-B-1 for Montreal, they’ll be easy pickings for B-C by at least 10 points!
That leaves the “Game of the Year” – at least to this point and for now – as the Tiger-Cats come to Saskatchewan. The 6-3 Ticats are coming off that thrilling setback to B-C, which ended a six-game winning streak, while the Roughriders are 7-1 and winners of three straight. Their only loss came the week after being on a bye – which the Green and White are coming off of again! I’m somewhat confident in this pick, Riders by less than a touchdown!
Overall for the season, I’m 21-18 after a pretty good start! Yuck!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
