Air quality warnings encompass most of northern Saskatchewan while rainfall warnings in central Saskatchewan stretch from the Alberta border through Wilkie, Unity, just north of Rosthern including Prince Albert, through Melfort, Tisdale and east to Hudson Bay.

Environment Canada says rain, at times heavy, is expected as a low pressure system continues to move across southern Saskatchewan Friday night. The national forecaster says heavy, persistent rainfall will continue on the northern side of this system as it pivots through central Saskatchewan tonight and moves into Manitoba on Saturday.

Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm are expected by the time the rain ends Sunday morning with locally higher amounts, in excess of 100 mm, possible where thunderstorms also occur.

Environment Canada advises that heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
