The Province is reminding Saskatchewan families with kids about the Active Families Benefit as a means of saving money this year.
A Provincial news release says the tax credit helps keep sporting, recreation, and cultural activities more affordable. In 2025, the credit was doubled to $300 per child, and the benefit is now available to families with a gross family income of $120,000 or less.
With the adjustment, this means that more than 69,000 or 56 per cent of all families with children will be eligible.
As long as you keep your receipt, the benefit can be claimed when it’s time to file taxes for 2025.
