RCMP asks public not to share misleading AI image in sexual offence case

The Saskatchewan RCMP is addressing a misleading AI-generated image circulating on social media, which was created from a police sketch related to a sexual offence investigation at a business south of Saskatoon on May 9, 2025. Officials clarified that the AI image does not match witness descriptions and urged the public to stop sharing it.

The original sketch, produced by an RCMP Forensic Artist and released on May 16, remains the accurate depiction of the suspect, and authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the image or has information to contact the RCMP at 310-RCMP or submit tips anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

The General Investigation Section continues to work on the case.
