A Saskatoon Fire Investigator has determined the fire that impacted two homes on Boykowich Bend on Sunday originated around waste disposal bins.
At around 11:16 p.m., firefighters arrived at 135 and 139 Boykowich Bend to find smoke and heavy flames coming from the roof of both houses. Crews advanced multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire from the exterior of both houses.
They also set up an aerial ladder to extinguish the fire on the rooves.
All occupants were safely out of the houses, and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The fire was completely extinguished, and the SFD says the damage extended into both interiors from the exterior of the homes.
It is estimated that 135 received $500,000 in damage and 139 received $100,00 from fire damage.
