Yesterday (Sat), a funeral service for a respected Elder from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band was held.

The Band is mourning the loss of Elder Elizabeth “Sally” Roberts. A release from the Band says she was a leader who dedicated her life to the service of Grandmother’s Bay and the LLRIB community.

Roberts was a member of the Council of Elders, served on the school board, and worked as a community health representative.

Chief Tammy Cook-Searson says “On behalf of LLRIB, I extend my deepest condolences to her family, friends and all who knew her.”
