SaskEnergy’s Share the Warmth program is turning 30, and to celebrate, the Corporation is giving $100,000 to several charitable organizations that help Saskatchewan’s vulnerable population through the winter.

Share the Warmth began as a sweater recycling program in the 1990’s that redistributed over one million articles of clothing. Over a decade later, the program is now a grassroots initiative that helps organizations bring warm shelter, clothing and mental health services to those who need it across the province.

Last year, SaskEnergy provided $50,000 in grants, just half of this year’s commitment. Since 2012, the program has doled out nearly $550,000 in grants. Charitable organizations have until November 30th to apply for a grant.
