While speaking to the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour this (Wednesday) afternoon, urging workers to get out and vote for change, Leader Carla Beck also shared some good news with her supporters.

‘We’re winning this thing,” she stated. “We are going to be campaigning in constituencies in this province that we haven’t won for 20 years.”

While speaking with reporters earlier in the day, she stated that there are close races in Yorkton, White City-Qu’Appelle, and she’s seeing great NDP response in Christopher Lake, Meadow Lake, and Martensville-Blairmore. Beck followed up by saying her party isn’t taking anything for granted, but the momentum is on their side.

A recent Insightrix poll commissioned by CTV backs that up, showing that, of 802 Saskatchewan residents, 50 percent intend to vote for NDP, while only 45 per cent indicate they’ll vote for the Sask. Party.

“Our message of positive change to address the things that Saskatchewan people care most about is working. People are coming out in droves to vote. They’re voting for change,” she beamed.

However, experts at the University of Saskatchewan are warning that the poll may be an outlier, and the NDP should be careful as to not celebrate prematurely.

When questioned about NDP MLA for Saskatoon-Meewasin Nathaniel Teed, and how a door-cam caught him seemingly sifting through and removing mail from a residential mailbox, she stated that he was simply rearranging pamphlets and ‘there’s nothing more to it.’
