This weekend at the World Trade Centre at Prairieland between 3,700 and 4,000 people are expected to attend the annual regional Jehovah’s Witnesses convention. Local Jehovah’s Witnesses spokesperson, Joel Ramcharan, says there are 60 conventions across Canada each year in 18 different languages and worldwide, there are around 6,000 conventions. He explains that Jehovah’s Witnesses may be known for meeting people at their doors but they are also known for their conventions.
The theme for the event which runs Friday through Sunday is good news. He understands there is a lot of bad news out there, but Ramcharan says, “For three days it’s going to be all about good news.” He adds that if you are curious, come and check it out, because everyone is welcome. Ramcharan expects there will be people from across the province and also some arriving from Manitoba.
