The May long weekend officially kicks off camping season which, new this year, including a reminder email 72 hours before check-in with highlights of programming and events.
Provincial parks will feature new programming and events a well as the free, self-use Discovery Packs that are filled with crafts and activities which can be found around the province.
The first event of the season is Back in the Boreal which gets underway on June 1 on National Trails Day. It’s a 10-kilometer guided interpretive hike on the New Branch Loop of the Boreal Trail. To take part join Park Interpreters in Meadow Lake Provincial Park.
To book a campsite visit the reservation site and search under “Camping this Weekend”. Entry permits can also be purchased online before you get to the park which will allow campers to be checked in automatically without stopping at the gate.
