Buffalo Narrows RCMP received a report on April 21st about someone who was armed at a home in the community. Officers responded and attempts were made to have the suspects leave the home and then the RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team was called in to help. A woman and three men were arrested.
RCMP say two rifles, two sawed-off shotguns, ammunition, knives, drug trafficking paraphernalia and multiple cans of bear spray were seized. Twenty-one-year-old Johnny Thompson of Buffalo Narrows is facing 17 charges including five counts of possession of a weapon contrary two an order, one count of pointing a firearm and one count of obstructing a peace officer. The other three were released without charges.
RCMP officers from La Loche, Turnor Lake and Dillon helped with the investigation along with Meadow Lake Police Dog Services, Saskatchewan’s General Investigation Section and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team.
