There is a greater need for services provided by the 35 community-based organizations providing services to a growing population, according to Sheri Benson, chief executive officer of United Way Saskatoon adn area.
The funds will support 42 initiatives, focused on moving people from poverty to possibility, helping kids be all they can be, and making the community safer and stronger.
“The demands on services such as snack programs, food programs, ones that help people find housing—there is more demand and more people asking for help than ever before,” Benson said.
The United Way continues to work closely with partners to ensure that ever dollar is maximized to create the biggest impact for Saskatoon and area.
