Local athletes have a chance to be noticed and receive funding from the R-B-C Training Ground program during a qualifying event this Saturday at the P-A-C.
Between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the USask campus, the Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan and the Canadian Olympic Committee will come together to put athletes through their paces in four main areas – speed, strength, power and endurance. Top performers on Saturday will move on to regional and, possibly, a national final later this year. National Sport Organizations use the testing results to identify skills that may lead to success in their respective sports. The R-B-C Training Ground is a program designed to find young athletes with Olympic potential and provide them with the resources needed to achieve their medal-winning dreams.
