The Government of Saskatchewan has approved nearly $650,000 in funding for the teacher innovation and support fund. This is the third round bringing the total to date allocated through the fund to schools and communities to $1.5 million. The Teacher Innovation and Support Fund was announced in January. Teachers work their school administration to apply for up to $75,000.
Three Saskatoon projects were among the most recent awarded funding including St. Volodymyr in the Greater Saskatoon Catholic school division which received $19,000 for additional literacy support. The full $75,000 went to Montgomery School in the Saskatoon Public School division for the interSTELLAR Loan Project. And Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools’ Ecole St. Paul received $10,000 for Sensory Pathways and Occupational Therapy-based Supports to Improve Mental Health, Self-Regulation and Well-Being.
