The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention saw 1,100 exhibitors, 700 speakers, and 26,926 participants take part this year, one being Saskatchewan Minister of Energy and Resources, Jim Reiter.
Reiter says the convention provides a great opportunity for encouraging other countries to look at Saskatchewan as a place to spend their investment dollars.
In addition to that, the Ministry also hosts all the Saskatchewan companies at a round table each year.
“It gives us a chance to get them all under one roof. It gives us a chance to get feedback from them; what they’re happy with, what they’re not happy with in Saskatchewan, as far as the regulatory front. (We can also) get advice from them on what we can do on the promotion front. We can get a lot of bang for our buck in just two or three days.”
Reiter adds that PDAC is the largest mining convention in the world.
