Diabetes Canada invests about $4 million a year for research and around 11,900,000 Canadians with diabetes or prediabetes are supported through the non-profit organization.
President and CEO of National Diabetes Trust, Canada’s largest charitable clothing collection service is encouraging Canadians to join the 40 Days, 40 Items Challenge to support Diabetes Canada.
Sean Shannon explains that the idea is to place one piece of gently used clothing or a small household item aside each day and by the end of the 40 days, you will have a generous donation which will help Diabetes Canada.
The donations are sold to sellers of used goods and the proceeds are then used for all of Diabetes Canada’s services.
Along with money going towards research and support for those living with diabetes, every year they also send about 2,000 kids with diabetes and their families to D-camp.
