The Saskatoon Blades shared the wealth when it came to their biggest offensive out-put of the season Wednesday in a 9-1 shellacking of the visiting Regina Pats.
Eight different Bridge City Bunch players scored goals, led by rookie 16-year-old centre Hudson Kibblewhite’s (pictured) first-ever two-goal night, while 16 of 18 Blue and Gold skaters found their way onto the scoresheet in front of 3,625 fans at SaskTel Centre. Yet, freshman goaltender Evan Gardner made it happen by stopping all 15 Regina shots in the first period while the Blades built a 3-0 lead. Only Saskatoon product Corban Almen could solve Gardner on a third period breakaway as the Pats were only out-shot 37-31 while their record fell to 17-24-6. Egor Sidorov had a goal and two assists for Saskatoon, now 34-9-5 for the season, the 19-year-old Anaheim draft pick recording his 100th career W-H-L goal, the 30th player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Ben Saunderson, Vaughan Watterodt and Easton Armstrong each notched a goal and a helper while Brandon Lisowsky, Fraser Minten and Misha Volotovskii also found the back of the net as the Bridge City Bunch won their third straight game overall and eighth-in-a-row on home ice. Tyler Parr and Tanner Molendyk chipped in two assists each. The Blades last scored nine goals in a game on December 10, 2022 – a 9-0 whitewashing of the Raiders in Prince Albert. Saskatoon will welcome Central Division-leading Medicine Hat Friday for the first time this season. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L plus Post-Game Show comments from head coach Brennan Sonne, Sidorov and Kibblewhite…..
