A Saskatchewan company rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange this morning (Tues). Saskatoon-based NexGen Energy recently received provincial environmental approval to proceed with the development of the Rook I Project, which would be a uranium mine in the Athabasca basin in northern Saskatchewan.
CEO of NexGen, Leigh Curyer, considers this a major milestone for the company, for the communities where they operate, for the province and he says it moves Canada towards being the world’s leader in production of clean energy fuel for the global environment. The next step in the process is the federal review of the Environmental Impact Statement.
