Over 3 million menstrual products are being delivered to schools and women’s shelters across the province.
The initiative is a collaboration between the provincial government and the Shopper’s Foundation for Women’s Health. The products will be shipped to school divisions who will then determine which schools could benefit most from them, with financial barriers in mind.
Sixteen shelters for women fleeing domestic violence will also receive the free products. The announcement is part of a larger, three-year initiative to provide 12 million menstrual products over the next three years.
