A 33-year-old man is facing 10 charges and police allege he was in possession of multiple bladed weapons.
At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Saskatoon Patrol officers were dispatched to weapons call in the 1900 block of 22nd Street West. Officers say they were told that staff at the apartment building had asked a man in the stairwell to leave the building, and he responded by showing a knife.
Police say a suspect was located at 22nd Street West and Avenue S South but he became agitated as officers spoke with him and tried to run away.
As the man was being arrested, SPS says in a news release that he threatened the officers with a knife that he had been hiding. A conducted energy weapon was used on the suspect before he was taken into custody. Police seized disassembled scissors, a steak knife and a utility knife with an extra blade.
He was medically assessed and cleared by the paramedic in Detention.
