Until October 21st, activities will be taking place in schools around the province to celebrate Education Week.
Activities will be taking place in every school division to showcase student success stories and to honour the dedication of teachers, staff and volunteers. This year’s theme is Bright Minds, Bright Futures.
The Saskatchewan Government has also proclaimed October 17 as school bus driver appreciation day to recognize all 1,200 school bus drivers in the province. During the same time frame, the province is also celebrating Library Week. The celebration aims to recognizes the role libraries play in strengthening communities, creating informed citizens, advancing literacy skills and encouraging lifelong learning.
In the same release, Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill thanked teachers for their work. He says, “By providing our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to a strong society, you are creating the bright minds who will lead Saskatchewan into the future.”
