Tis the season for hunters in Saskatchewan to be relieved of their hunting supplies if they aren’t careful.
Saskatchewan RCMP detachments are now receiving reports of stolen firearms, ammunition and other related items, including a report out of Central Saskatchewan where a duck hunter returned to his parked vehicle, only to find a shotgun, shotgun shells and binoculars missing from his truck. As a result, Saskatchewan RCMP are reminding hunters to not leave firearms unattended in a vehicle, especially overnight. In addition, only bring enough firearms you are willing to carry with you for a hunting excursion and always use trigger locks and secure firearms cases with some type of locking mechanism. The Saskatchewan RCMP remind hunters that it is illegal to have a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
