It’s that time of year again. Saskatchewan’s minimum wage increases to $14 an hour on October 1st, which is a dollar-an-hour raise. Manitoba’s minimum wage will rise to $15.30 an hour and Alberta’s is $15.00. The federal minimum wage rose to $16.65 on April 1st.
The Government of Saskatchewan announced last May that the minimum wage in the province would be incrementally increased in the next two years, so this is the first raise with another dollar-an-hour raise next year. The province adds in a news release that Saskatchewan’s personal taxes are among the lowest in the country.
